Every

so often I'm reminded why it is so important for me to teach my rugrats

the difference between playtime and listen-to-daddy time. I play with

them, I get into being a kid and I make them forget that I'm a

grown-up. And then when it's time to drop the hammer and get into daddy

mode, it bites me in the ass.

"I don't want to!"

I hear those words way more often than I should. Most of the time it

doesn't bother me so much, because I've developed a system of

distracting my 3-year-old into submission. Most of the time it works,

sometimes it doesn't. And when things get tough, its usually my beloved

Yasuka who has to pay the price.

I get to go to work and escape domesticity for most of the day, while

she stays home to deal with a child who spends alot of time testing her

bounderies. If that isn't enough, she also has to take care of a

toddler who has finally figured out how to walk, run and cry for

attention.

I've always had respect for parents who stayed home to care for the

children. Now that I'm a parent, that respect has grown exponentially.

My wife isn't just a mom... She's superhuman.

I guess that's the price you pay for having the world's cutest kids.
